Thursday, 06 March 2008
For quite some time now, studies have been trying to find any type of link between the mercury preservative in many vaccinations, called thimerosal, and an increased in autism. A federal vaccine court has ruled in favor of a girl from Georgia, as they stated a vaccine made her case of autism worse. A federal vaccine court ruled in favor of a girl from Georgia. The court stated that the vaccine the girl was given, actually made her autism worse. She has a disorder involving her mitochondria and reports are that the vaccine actually aggravated it quite a bit. The vaccine caused the rare diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. The court ruling stated that the vaccines caused a metabolic condition which resulted in a brain disorder. This brought out the link between the preservative and the autism spectrum disorder. Many studies have been carried out to try and find any type of connection between the mercury preservative thimerosal in vaccines, and the rise in autism spectrum disorders. All studies thus far though have found no credible link between the two. The court ruling from the Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation gave no scientific link between the autism and the vaccine. Over 5,000 families are trying to get compensation for autism or other developmental disabilities, as they are blaming it on vaccines and their mercury-based preservative thimerosal. The ruling will have the girl be paid from a federal vaccine-injury fund. The government stated though that they did not say that the vaccines cause autism.
