California Registered Nurses plan to picket Print E-mail
Thursday, 26 July 2007

Registered nurses at Catholic Healthcare West hospitals across the state of California, including Mercy Medical Center in Redding, will hold a "public alert" picket today.

The picketing at 20 facilities is in response to a lack of progress since bargaining over a new agreement began in April, the California Nurses Association announced. Thousands of registered nurses are affected by the picketing, and the RNs have overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike if the contract is not resolved soon.

Pickets in Redding will walk from 5 to 8 p.m. outside Mercy Medical Center.
